Why not register for email updates from Smokefree England to help you prepare for the new smokefree law? There are email updates for businesses and employers with the steps you need to take to ensure your business is compliant with the law. Individuals and health organisations can get updates on the Smokefree England campaign and how the new law will affect you.

Register for email updates from Smokefree England

We have created a series of reminders which you can download to yourown email calender. Each reminder outlines several steps you need to take between now and 1st July to comply with the new smokefree law. Once you download and install them, they will be saved in your email programme and a reminder will appear in your calendar on the specified day.

Simply click on the dates and subjects below to download each of the reminders. If you cannot install the calendar reminders you can read the text version here:

2nd April: 90 days to go until England becomes smokefree

2nd May: 60 days to go until England becomes smokefree

1st June: 30 days to go until England becomes smokefree

25th June: One week to go until England becomes smokefree

1st July: From today England becomes smokefree

How to install the calendar reminders

On a PC
To add a reminder to your email calendar, simply click on the link and select 'Open'. If your email programme is not automatically chosen, choose 'Open With...Other' and select your email application in your 'Program files' folder. Then click 'Open' and the reminder should be added automatically.

On a MAC
To add a reminder to your email calendar, simply click on the link and select 'Open'. If your email programme is not automatically chosen, choose 'Open With' and select your email application in the applications folder. Then click 'Open' and the reminder should be added automatically.

These work best in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express on PC or Microsoft Entourage or Mail on Mac. Several other email programmes will also support these files, however some email programmes such as Lotus notes may not be compatible.

Please note: if your computer only allows you to save files from a website, please save it on your desktop and then choose 'Open with' and select your email programme.

The smokefree screensaver allows you to view the countdown of the days until England is smokefree with a congratulatory message on the 1st of July.

PC screensaver

The PC version of the screensaver will run on Windows 95, 98, NT, Me, 2000, and XP
