Advertising campaign

Public information campaign

The TV advertising campaign launched on May 14th to raise awareness about the law and what the legislation would mean when it came in to force. It showed an 'everyday' man walking through a variety of locations, including a cafe, pub, garage and office, all of which are now smokefree environments. This was complemented with outdoor, press and online advertising in the run-up to the July 1st launch date and tactical advertising in high impact locations on July 1st.

Business campaign

Press and online advertising ran throughout January and February with the aim of raising awareness amongst businesses and encouraging them to register to receive the guidance. In May/June, this was followed up with further regional press and radio activity to remind businesses what they needed to do in order to be ready for July 1st.
